Help with beta and progesterone levels!!

in 1st Trimester
the nurse just called with the levels. at 4w2d, my beta was 191 (she said was extremely low) and my progesterone was 35.  (which she was an extremely high number)  I'm waiting for a call back from the midwife. I'm scared!  please let me know your insight!

    Betas by themselves shouldn't be alarming unless you have a second one done within 48-72 hours. I don't have the link to the website to normal numbers, but as long as they double you should be fine! Do you have a second test scheduled?

    Your nurse is scaring you for no reason. Beta levels vary drastically among women. Your beta sounds completely normal and your progesterone is good and strong.

    yes, the nurse just called back. I'm going in tomorrow to get more blood taken.  does it matter that it's way more than 72 hours now?

    Are you talking about HCG levels?  I had my first beta done at 3w5d and it was 45.  My second beta was done at 4w and it was 91.  They did not mention it was low either times...  I'm not sure why she would say 191 was extremely low unless this was your 2nd beta and it didn't double from the first beta?
    2nd ectopic resulted in loss of tube. HSG revealed remaining tube is "severely torqued".
    IVF #1: ER 03/29/10; ET 04/01/10: transferred 2 embies; Beta #1 (9dp3dt)- 45; Beta #2 (11dp3dt)- 91= BFP
    FET#1: ET 04/18/12: transferred 4 embies; Beta #1: >2 = BFN
    IVF #2: ER 06/20/12; ET 6/25/12: transferred 2 embies; Beta #1 on 7/5/12= BFN
    8/16: hysteroscopy for polyp removal
    11/11: hysteroscopy #2 for yet another polyp removal
    FET#2: ET 12/15/12: transferred 3 embies; Beta #1 (9dp5dt): 12/24/12: 426; Beta #2 (11dp5dt): 845= BFP
    u/s 1/9= triplets!; miscarried all three on 1/10/13...

    My betas was 69 at 4w4d ( I am nine pregnant weeks now). Like the PP said, it is the doubling, not the initial number. This is a great website for betas www.betabase.info  Good luck.

    The actual numbers do not necessarily matter as long as they are rising appropriatedly. They should double every 48-72 hours. Good Luck. See My betas in siggy. I have no idea how far along I am though.

    thanks ladies!  i just wish i could take the day off tomorrow and go first thing in the morning.  since i'm a teacher, i have to go after school.  it's going to be a long day!!

    also, since I had my last test done wednesday, will they still see a clear doubling pattern?

    yes, they should let you know when they call though. There are also hcg doubling calculators that you can plug your numbers in and it will tell you the doubling time. GL!

    My beta was 175 when I was 4 wks, 2 days and my doctor said it was great...it then tripled in 48 hours which was great, too.  191 is within the normal range for 16 DPO.  The nurse probably just didn't know how far along you are.  She's scaring you unnecessarily.

    191 doesn't seem that low for 4w2d.  The levels vary widely from woman to woman and your 4w2d is based on your LMP.  You may have ovulated late and not be quite that far along. 
    I give up trying to get a ticker.  I have a DD that is 2.5 years old and is awesome.  Maybe I'll add a quote to distinguish myself.  Hmmm.  How about...

    My beta was 118 at 14 dpo and I'm having twins.  I can't see anyone saying that 191 is low!  I think that both numbers look amazing.
