Nursing refusal, but increased solids?

I EBF Gabrielle.  In addition of course to her three meals of solids per day.  The last week (approx) she has not been nursing nearly as much as "normal."  I have to force her to nurse each time thru the day.  When I offer solids, however, she gobbles them up.  And then cries for more (if we finish a meal, say, and I get up to go clean the dishes, she cries until I sit down and offer her more).  What is this?  She can't be self weaning, right?

She's fine otherwise.  No earache, no fever, no congestion, etc.  She IS teething and cut her first tooth the other day so I was chalking up the nursing refusal to that, but she's still SO uninterested.  I keep worrying she's not getting enough liquids - even tho she still has normal pee diapers thru the day.

  • I'm having the same problem!!! Not sure what is going on!?!?! She just seems so distracted and uninterested to nurse or feed from a bottle.

    What gives?

  • I posted about the exact same problem early this morning.  I took her to the doc just to be sure there was no ear infection.  He said she was just getting to the point where she wants to cut back a little on formula/BM, and eat more solids.  He said as long as she's getting 16 oz a day (I know you can't tell with EBFing), she's fine.
