I am thinking about ordering a camera strap cover for my SLR.  Saw one that my co-worker has and liked it. I never thought to get one, but it makes sense.

  1. Have you ordered from Etsy? 
  2. If so, did you like it? 
  3. How does it work?
  4. Do you have a particular vendor/seller you would recommend?

    I heart Etsy. I have lost countless hours of my life browsing on that site!! I don't have a specific vendor rec but I have to say that every purchase I have ever made has been an incredibly positive experience and you can feel good supporting handmade artisans. When you purchase from an Etsy seller, it's usually a one or two person operation and they are very invested in making sure you like the product and are satisfied. Every purchase I have made has been through Paypal, which is good because it's a secure payment system as opposed to giving your CC number to somebody you don't know.

    Etsy should pay me royalties for all the gushing I do about their site!

    1. Have you ordered from Etsy? Yes - jewelry, a purse, and lots of decor for the nursery
    2. If so, did you like it? Yes!!! I've never had a problem with any of it.
    3. How does it work? You can search by category or vendor. Find things you like (or are close to what you like - a lot of times vendors will do something custom). You pay with PayPal and it usually ships via USPS.
    4. Do you have a particular vendor/seller you would recommend? For jewelry, I liked GemsByEm. Otherwise, no real recs - it can help to look at vendor reviews.

    Funny you should ask! I *just* ordered a camera strap from seller PhatStraps (it's adorable - it has giraffes!). I decided to do the whole strap instead of a cover because I've read the covers can slip. Also, this strap is longer than most, so that the camera can be worn on your hip, not just around your neck. Unfortunately, I haven't gotten any emails about it yet, which is starting to worry me, but a lot of people have recommended this seller on the Photography board so it will probably be fine.

    eta- haven't gotten a *shipment* email, got the invoice and receipt quickly.

    3. How does it work? See above - I also had to do a return and did it via USPS.
    4. Do you have a particular vendor/seller you would recommend? I had a locket engraved with DS's birthday by JulietLove.

    LOVE LOVE LOVE Etsy! I have made many purchases, and never had any problems at all.

    The sellers have feedback (like eBay) so you could take a look at that if you were concerned about a vendor.

    I love Etsy!!!  I have ordered several things using my paypal account and have had great experiences.  The items I've ordered have come pretty quickly.  I like it because you can email the vendor directly, which is nice if you want to make something more "custom".
