I am already on maternity leave, but I am 0 cm dilated and it is likely that I will be induced next Tuesday night [I was due yesterday]. I am a pretty antsy person so I am getting bored and anxious sitting around. We are pretty well prepared for baby. Is there any thing you wish you had done prior to baby? I am trying to think of things to do this week just in case baby does not arrive until next week. Thanks
Re: Waiting for Baby - What did do wish you had done b/f baby?
enjoy some "you" time!!!
You could make some dinners that you could freeze!
Pre-pay some bills (pregnancy brain turns into new-momma brain and its worse!), take more naps, movies out, sleep in on the weekend, .....
and stock freezer with meals, shelves with healthy foods and fridge with tons of beverages.
definitely getting a manicure and pedicure, oh and also a pre-natal massage.
definitely pre pay bills!! my hubby decided to "take over" the bills for a while...yeah, so when i was back to being in charge of them, they were ALL late! he didn't pay 1 bill, so i spent a lot of time on the phone with everyone trying to get late fees reversed because "i unexpectedly went into labor a month early " (the good thing is they actually all reversed the charges!)
good luck!
Cleaned my house thoroughly - you know the knooks & crannies where you will probably never get to again; at least not until your kid is away at college.
And sleep in - it's probably the last time you'll get 8 uninterrupted hours of sleep; AND you will never sleep past 8 am again even after your baby is sleeping through the night so ENJOY - sleep until 10, or noon!! Do it while you can!!
Read (and finish) a GOOD book. I haven't opened anything other than a magazine since the delivery room.
Congrats! You are about to experience the happiest moment of your life.
I second both the mani and paying bills ahead of time.?
I also wish I'd finished the book I was reading because I didn't get back to it for 2 months.
Most of all I wish I would have appreciated those last days, even though I was uncomfortable I didn't appreciate the days I had when I could do nothing at all if I wanted to. I probably won't have one of those for 18 years!?
