I found this doppler online on sale from $499 to $95. Awesome deal I would think but I don't know what to look for in one and if this is really a "deal". I'm 8 weeks now and I know it's a bit early but I thought if I rent one this coming month and we keep it till birth I'm looking at atleast $140 for a basic model or $280 for one with the heartbeat rate displayed for rental so $95 seems great, if the quality is the same.

Here's the specs...

Re: Doppler Advice?
You can buy good dopplers on Amazon for anywhere form 60-70.00. I just ordered mine the other day and its the same one everyone else gets. Its the Sononline B.
If you would rather rent, than go for it. but you can pay 70.00 on Amazon and Keep it
This. I have the Sonotrax B - it was worth every penny. I would definitely recommend going this route.
I also bought the sonoline B, it's awesome, cost $68 with shipping and gel.
Then, you can use it and resell it on ebay for $40-50 OR keep it for future kids.

We are 8 weeks now...when should we expect to be able to hear the heartbeat with one of these?
Also I'm a bit on the bigger side, so will it take longer for me? Or do we just use the doppler in the area where they do the u/s (just above my pubic bone).
8 weeks is tough. We heard my LO's HB at 10 weeks. It took a little bit but we found it. My Dr. told me that we may not hear it, but since I am "little" it should be easier. From the looks of your U/S your LO is right in the middle. (mine is to the left) I would say that you should for sure hear it at 12 weeks. If it makes you feel better wait until your Dr. finds it first, which is what I did, then I ordered.
