Hi Ladies,
DH and I are moving to Zionsville in June. I'm due in September with our first (girl). I've been active on the Austin board and am hoping to be active on this board, as well!
I was wondering if any of you had a recommendation for a midwife or OB in the Zionsville/W. Carmel area? I would like to do a drug-free birth, if possible, so a MW or OB who is OK with that option is preferred.
Thanks so much in advance for any help!
Re: Introduction and recommendation Q
No idea's on the dr rec, but wanted to say hello! A lot of girls use St. V Carmel, I go to St. V Women's off of 86th Street (not that 86th Street means much to you). Love them there!
I'm live up by your way as well!
My OB is Dr. Johnson at Zionsville OB/GYN and she delivered my LO last month. She's in a practice with two other women (Dr's Raney and Ball) and I've seen them all. They do have an NP (who is awesome also), but I'm not sure if she participates in the actual L&D's in any way. She was recommended to me by a coworker and I know several other Dr's wives and nurses that go there. Definitely highly recommend their practice.
I don't know specifically how they feel about med-free births in general, but I considered going med-free while in labor and both dr's that I saw seemed fine with it.
They deliver at Clarian North hospital, which we had a great experience with. They have wireless monitoring, whirlpool tubs in most rooms, and other things that would aid in achieving a med-free birth.
Welcome and congrats!
I go to Dr Weber at Associates in Women's Health at Clarian North and can't say enough wonderful things about him. Here is their contact information: https://www.clarian.org/portal/MMG/practiceWebMMG?clarianContentID=/mmg/practices/womens_north.xml I agree with the pp about interviewing different OBs to make sure they're a good fit for you.
I'm no help with recommendations either - I delivered med (well, epidural) free with both my boys at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville.
Welcome and congrats on your baby girl-to-be!
