Is anyone else have PUPPP? What are you using to get over the itchy? Has anything helped? I have an appointment with my doc soon, so i hope he will give me something, but so far I have already tried 10 different creams/lotions/meds and nothing gives me more than 4 hours of relief. Thanks in advance!!
Re: PUPPP?
I had it with DD, you've got my sympathy, I know how awful it is. There's a ton of things that might help at https://www.naomikritzer.com/motherhood/PUPPP.shtml, she's a mom who had PUPPP who basically did a webpage with all of the remedies people have submitted that helped them. Seems like something different works for everyone.
It's a giant PITA, but the 'Grandpa's Pine Tar Soap' one on there worked for me. Like I said, big pain, but it actually *cleared* the rash totally for me (well worth it).
I'll admit I was in utter desperation at the time and was willing to do the 3 showers (one in the morning before I went home, once right when I got home, one right before bed). Hell, I would have tried walking on hot coals if it might have helped. It actually wasn't that bad, though, I pulled my hair up out of the way, and with not washing it every time the showers didn't take as long as a normal one would. Just make sure if you go for that you use some kind of lotion after to keep your skin from drying out. For me, the first day after I started was worse and the rash actually spread (which I heard might happen), then it started clearing (but wasn't as itchy, I could use cream to keep it the itching down), and in a week, 10 days, it was gone.
Someone posted this last night too, and here's what I told them:
Benadryl doesn't help me at ALL! (The girl last night said she had tried Benadryl) I think I have a particularly aggressive case (it's all over my abdomen, on and under my boobs, all the way up my arms, down both legs, and now on my butt and little spots on my back), so feel free to adjust my routine as needed.
I've been using Grandpa's Pine Tar Soap in the shower. It's smelly, but works pretty well. Rub the bar all over, then use a loofah to lather it up... let it sit for a couple of minutes then wash off with the coolest water you can tolerate. Then after I'm totally dry, I follow up with Nature's Gate Colloidal Oatmeal Lotion. I do this whole routine 2 or 3 times a day. If I can keep my mind off of it, this usually keeps the itch at bay for a few hours.
Also, Calamine lotion is completely safe during pregnancy, and you can apply it as needed. So I bought a bottle of the pink stuff from when I was a kid and have been more or less bathing in it the past couple of days.
And, I'm carrying around 48DD's and the rash is on the under side of them and on the skin underneath, so after the oatmeal lotion, I sprinkle some Goldbond powder (the kind in the green bottle) under there. Since it's mentholated, it makes a cooling sensation that distracts from the itchy pain.
In between all of this, if I get an itchy spell, frozen washcloths or a Ziplock bag of ice on the itchy spots calms it down.
Anyway, like I said, I think mine's rather aggressive. But man, PUPPP sucks SO bad.

I feel your pain. I had it in my 3rd tri as well.
The Pine Tar Soap was a LIFESAVER for me. I used in the a.m. and then at night. Sometimes I'd wake up and just wash my arms and legs with it in the middle of the nite to help me sleep. I also used A&D Ointment sometimes- it was soothing.
The rash goes away AS SOON as the baby is born! Hang in there !
