Mine was very nice. Low key, and my husband made dinner AND gave our son a bath and put him to bed. In the morning we had brunch at my BIL's with their family. In the afternoon, we relaxed at home and did nothing. A big day for me! Ha ha...My husband's gift was an entire day off to do whatever I want, while he takes care of Ty!
There was some drama due to my MIL but that is becoming standard. Luckily it didn't prevent me from enjoying a great day with my husband, our son, and his family.
It was great. My sister and I met our mom at Panera for breakfast (moms only--no kids) and had a very nice time together. Then I came home and had a relaxing day. DH made my favorite dinner, and then I guilted him into watching Harry Potter 6 with me after the boys went to bed. He stayed awake for a whole hour! (He hates HP).

We went out to lunch at my favorite seafood restaurant. The no-touch thermometer DH bought last week happened to arrive in the mail on Saturday so I got that also. : )
We had planned to go to the zoo, but the weather wouldn't cooperate. It was only in the mid-50's, with no sun and a constant north wind. I was out in it for a half hour in the morning, and my fingers turned blue.
So, instead, we stayed in most of the day, and had a very low-key day. I got an afternoon nap and Hubby took me out for dinner. While I was napping, the Hubby took Miles and went to the store. I awoke to a vase full of roses. Next weekend, we are going to try again for the zoo.

Great and relaxing day. Went to church and then out to breakfast in the morning. Had hoped for a picnic later but the wind was wicked and it was frigid, so that was out. Ended up coming home, lounging, even took a nap (gasp)! Then DH asked what I wanted for dinner-ordered Chinese, and he had rented a movie and gotten a bunch of movie type snacks for us to munch on. Was a great, low key day
we too hoped to go to the zoo and have a picnic but the weather was far from cooperating. Very windy.
Very low key day- DH and Gisele made me a card and DH 'attempted' breakfast. Other than that we did a ton of errands and running around which sucked but needed to get done.
And I did the Susan G Komen walk in the morning- alone- was too cold for Gisele so DH watched her. Was nice to just be outside and walking in peace surrounded by so many strong women/survivors.
Had an excellent mother's day! I wasn't really planning on getting anything from DH/DD but he got me a HUGE hanging plant, a card (which he had DD "sign" by painting her hand w/watercolor and stamping it on the card...he came up with that all by himself, SO Proud!) and he got me a bag of my favorite chocolates (PB lindt )
We were planing on going to the Tulip fest but the weather was so nasty we went to Brunch then shopping with my Mom instead, got a new Jen Lancaster book as well (now if I could just find the time to read it lol) and ended the day with Cheesecake from the cheesecake factory, couldn't have been more awesome!
We also had a low-key day. Went to church, then came home and I got to take a nap for as long as I wanted. DH got up when the kids woke up. Then we had steaks and baked potatoes for dinner cooked by DH. Then he cleaned the kitchen. We had cookies and watched a movie after the kids were in bed.
We were going to go to the park and have a picnic but the weather here didn't cooperate either. It was in the 50s and very windy so we stayed in.
We went to church (the Pastor gave an AWESOME Mother's Day service which in & of itself was such a gift) then out for Mexican with my BIL/SIL & their kids. When we got home it was nice and warm and sunny out so I parked myself in a lounge chair in the backyard and got some sun/napped/read while the kids rode bikes & DH cleaned the car. Soooooo nice!
We were up at 6:30am to get to the Mall of America by 9:30am for the Race for the Cure (we did the indoor 1K). We walked with DH's aunt/godmother and family to celebrate her 10 year anniversary of being cancer free:) It was just me and the kids and while some helped me with them once in a while, I was exhausted chasing after them, lol. Afterward we had lunch with DH's family and hung out for a bit at their hotel. We got home around 4pm so we skipped the gathering on my mom's side as it was another hour away.
When DH got home he gave me my gift (3 charms with hanging birthstone beads-one for each kid-for my Pandora bracelet) and we took the kids out for dinner:)
Funny thing is, the jewelry store tucked the receipt in with my gift, lol. Oh well, I balance our checkbook so I would have seen it anyway
My MD was fantastic! DH made brunch (with just a little help from me) for both our mom's & our mom's moms. Then I napped, then we cuddled ordered appetizers in and watched a movie with wine. He wrote me the sweetest love letter and bought me a book I have been wanting. He did also buy "me" a $300 Apple Timecapsule, which I think is outrageous for a MD gift. 1) WAY too expensive and 2)It isn't just for "me". Then I was a jerk and preceded to let him know those two things. Ugh. I am such an idiot sometimes. Can't do anything nice for me!
My DH really blew me away... he read my blog and did all 13 things on my Thursday Thirteen post. No joke!
What really makes it so special is that I had no idea he read my blog nor did I know just how far he would go to do something nice for me: he watched YouTube videos on how to make French Toast and made me breakfast in bed! He also made dinner, 100% of dinner for us both: grilled Lobster with roasted corn-on-the-cob and for dessert, grilled butter-rum pineapple over coconut ice cream.
I nearly died, you guys!
It was a wonderful day! Happy Mother's Day to you all!
Re: How was everyone's Mother's Day?
We bought a house, lol
Seriously, we signed the paperwork for our new house! Because of all the craziness DH asked if we could have a "re-do" for Mother's Day.
I also got some new philosophy moisturizer and a hot salt scrub
