I know reading these leading up to delivery gave me confidence in my own ability to go through with it. Good luck to you au naturale mommas-to-be, you can do it!
Congrats! I love these au naturale stories...you are so right about them being motivating! I have a couple questions for you. How did your DH handle your pain? My DH and I were talking last night and he admitted he is really concerned about how he is going to handle me being in pain. We both feel strongly about going natural but I am kind of afraid if in the heat of things if I ask for drugs he will encourage the staff to oblige. And secondly, did you end up pushing on your back on the bed?
Thanks again for posting and I love your new siggy pic! What a snuggler you have!
Congrats Mama! I love the au natural storeis, hopefully I will have one of my own very soon. Thanks for sharing because it makes it seem much more do-able!

My DH was wonderful - he was as determined as I was to have her as naturally as possible. That being said, ahead of time I told him if it got to be too much I may want a muscle relaxer to take the edge off and while I wouldn't mind him trying to refocus me first I didn't want him to tell me no or seem disappointed. The one time I asked for something he asked if I was sure and tried to get me through a few more contractions, but did call the nurse for me. I thought I was still at 4 centimeters since it had only been 45 mins since my last check and was in too much pain for that point. Once they told me I was a 7, though, it made more sense and I said never mind on the meds.
As far as pushing, they let me do pretty much what I wanted. They were encouraging me to get up on the ball or stool, but I didn't want to leave the bed - gravity made contractions so much more intense! I was on my right side the whole time I was pushing with the MW holding my left leg back.
