We bought a townhouse 2 years ago in the middle of the recession at a HUGE discount. We love the place and besides some things about the layout I dont like, its become a great first home for us.
Now, the problem I have is that there is an Algae problem in our water system. You have to constantly watch the tap when your using water...all of a sudden a big gush of BROWN algae water will come gushing out of the tap and into whatever you are doing. I have had this happen in the shower, brushing my teeth, making dinner ( which I had to throw away )
BUT the worst part is that even tho I watch my sons bathtub as it pours , after the tub dries there is STILL brown residue I can wipe off on the bottom of his infant tub. I AM BATHING MY KID IN THIS !!!!!
They tell us there is no harn to humans from this...there is no bacteria or anything that can make us sick...and they cant find the reason its happening. #1 I dont believe you #2 How can you NOT KNOW where the F its coming from ??
We can afford to move , but prob have to down grade to a much smaller place considering housing prices. Fi thinks Im being ridiculous and they'll fix the problem some day and its not hurting us anyways. This water problem has been going on for 4 years......no one told us that when we moved in.
HELP
Re: Help me convince FI to move. (long)
Sorry, I have no advice. But I agree with you that of course they will tell you its not harmful to you and years later you will find out that it actually was.
Hope you either convince FI to move or they solve the problem ASAP.
I would hate to have to constantly watch the water when doing simple stuff around the house.
Best of Luck!
Actually our townhouse is a style where it has an apartment above it and is attached at one other side to another townhouse so this is all "building" water. They have a filtration system in the building already but its not working. They even tried installing a UV light to try and Kill the aglae as it passes through to our houses.
Have you called water filtration companies? They may be able to install a filter where it enters your apartment. And how about getting bottled water deliveries for your eating/drinking water? Expensive, yes, but probably cheaper than selling your house at a loss.
