can anyone tell me what the difference is between the Boulevard (without the Click and Safe) and the Advocate? I know the main thing is the additional side impact safety, but is that very necessary? any other pros and cons between the two?

 ( i decided that the click and safe is unnecessary since i've been reading nothing but negative reviews on it, but we don't mind if it comes with the Advocate since that seat provides additional safety)... if that made any sense.

    Neither seat provides "additional" safety, and the only real difference is that the Advocate has more infant padding (removable) than the Boulevard. Honestly, I'd skip both and get a different seat entirely because even though both are good seats, you can get a lot more for your money. A First Years TrueFit or Graco MyRide are each less than $200 and the Sunshine Kids Radian 65 is about $200. All of these seats will probably last you longer because they have taller shells which allow for longer RF and longer FF using the 5 pt harness. They are all equally safe and honestly, I prefer the TrueFit over the rest most of the time. People feel compelled to buy Britax seats because the brand has been touted the "best of the best". That may have been true a few years ago, but the competition has caught up to them and, IMO, passed them in terms of length of use, features and DEFINITELY affordability.

    Hi there! SO I just asked this question to the carseat specilist last Friday!! He really said the Advocate isn't worth the extra money because the chance you will get hit EXACTLY where the extra side impact is, is very minimal if that makes sense. Also, I don't think I could ever put 3 carseats across my back seat with the Advocate because it is so big. I was TOTALLY willing to pay the price for the extra protection but he really didn't say it was any safer. We went with the Boulevard (not the CS because the didn't have the color I wanted Stick out tongue)

    & p.s. DS hated the Britax so we are back to our infant seat! LOL.....I'm going to wait until he's forward facing or outgrows the infant seat first! (He missed his hanging toys = )
