Shot in the dark...(gum surgery mentioned)

Anyone ever had a crown lengthening/gum contouring procedure?  I'm having this gum surgery on Tuesday and am not very excited about it.

    Sounds like you are having the opposite of what I had done.  I had gum grafting done due to recession of the gum line.  I suppose gum surgery is all very similar.  It wasn't bad at all and recovery was quick.  I did have major maxillofacial surgery and wisdom teeth removal to compare it to......but in light of that history.....the recovery wasn't bad at all!!!  They just used local anesthesia during the procedure.  Good luck on your surgery.

    Yeah, it sounds like the opposite of that.  They are doing IV sedation on me so I won't remember any of it.  I have also had my wisdom teeth out (granted that was 10 years ago), but I'm glad to hear the recovery wasn't too bad!

    IV sedation eh?  Well at least you won't remember anything!!!   Hopefully it will be similar to your wisdom teeth surgery.
