    I sing something simple with a little tune...

    "clean up, clean up, we all like to clean up"

    Amelia knows it and sings it while she cleans up.

    My niece and her BFF used to sing:

    Clean up, clean up!

    Everybody, everywhere!

    Clean up, clean up!

    Everybody do your share!

    I think it may have come from Barney, which I despise, but the song worked well - both for getting the cleaning done, and for emphasizing that everybody needed to help out.

    things can be replaced with books, trains, blocks, etc...

    At school (I teach Kindergarten) I use the Barney song.  It's just so catchy and when I try to find a different song I always go back to it!

    I think I was singing the Barney song without realizing it ... or at least just the "clean up" part.  I was mumbling the other lines - LOL.

    Marion has started singing the clean up part when she picks her toys up, so I'm glad we both have more words to add to it now!
