Vacuum

Does anyone have a reasonably priced vacuum they would recommend? Ours is just terrible and getting worse.

(I think this topic came up awhile ago but I remember a lot of people saying the dyson animal and holycrap it's like $500! DH would kill me!)

Re: Vacuum

  • we have been through 4 vacuums since being together.   I finally bought a dyson b/c I keep spending $150 on a vacuum.  I really like the dyson. We have the yeloow one and it was $320 after a coupon at bed bath and beyond.  I had a bissell lift off and it wasn't the greatest.  However we have 2 dogs and 1 is a long haired shedding dog so we need a powerful vacuum.

  • i have a eureka optima.. (and a dyson but the dyson hasnt worked right in ages). the eureka was obly $60 or $70 and i got it at bb&b so u could use a coupon.. and its really small and light which i love since we have so many stairs. you have to buy a pet attachment separate.. but its cheap too

  • I have the yellow Dyson- I think it's the "all floors" model. ?Honestly, we kept spending $100+ on vacuums that would last a year or so and then die on us. ?Finally we decided to get the Dyson and we've had it for 4 years with no problems. ?I'd watch sales and then splurge on a Dyson so you don't have to replace again in a year. ?

We have the Kenmore Progressive. It's the one that Consumers Reports always rates really well. We got ours about 5 years ago, and have had no problems with it. I think we got it for around $275.
