A lot of people are saying to send him to the nursery at night to get rest but I'm wondering if it even makes sense for us. I will be BFing him so if he wakes up crying to eat their going to bring him to me anyway. What are you ladies doing or what are your thoughts?
Happy Mother's Day ladies!!!!
Re: ? about LO in hosp room at nights...
We kept DD night 1 and sent her to the nursery night 2. Having someone else watching her if she did wake up was nice, I think I slept more soundly. I did wake up at ~4am night 2 wondering where she was. Turned out DD had just woken up and they were doing her morning tests before bringing her in to nurse.
We even continued this trend at home where I would get the best sleep when I knew someone else was watching over DD.
We're gonna send her to the nursery and ask that they bring her to us to nurse. We have to make sure they know NOT to give her a bottle or pacifier.
My mom said she told the nurses to give us a bottle of water if we were hungry during the night... I think that's ridiculous!!!
Azrayla....LOVE her NB pic!!!
My hospital has a nursery that you can use if you want, but they encourage you to keep baby with you as much as you can. I can tell you from an overnight trip for observation a couple of months ago...sleep just isn't happening with or without babies in the room. Nurses are in and out every other minute checking your BP and temp and all that so I figured if I am not getting any sleep I might as well stare at my kids. If I start to lose my sh** then yeah, nurses can play baby sitters for a while.
my hospital def brings them back in when they even think he might be hungry. DS1 was actually in the nursery quite a bit because I was not able to get out of bed to get him and it just made me sad to have to see him squirming and not be able to get to him. Once I even woke up to the nurse standing there with him.....and she was sad that she was going to have to wake me since she knew I had just finally been able to get to sleep.
I am going to play it by ear again this time too.
