come in if you had to give up diary for DC

What made you realize that you needed to give it up? DS is pretty fussy and  gassy most of the day, i am not sure how much of this is just how he is or if it's something i am eating. are there others things to look for if he is intolerant of diary? Did anyone just limit diary and have good results. thanks:)

Pretty much!  Just gave it a whirl and within a few days saw improvement.  Within two weeks, all symptoms gone!

  • I read up on allergies/food sesitivities early on since I have a lot of them.  One night she cried a horrible cry every time she pooped or passed gas.  Her stool was also green and mucusy.

I cut out milk since that's one of the most common offender.  Sadly cheese had a similar effect.

With an allergy they can also have blood in their stool.

I thought She wouls be OK with just a taste of cheese yesterday, but it still had the similar results.

  • I had to give up dairy early on and it helped.  She was fussy, would spit up a lot and she also had blood in her stools.  I asked my Dr when babies typically grow out of it and she said when solids are introduced.   She was right.  Now I just eat anything.

ETA: I also avoided broccoli and soda.

  • DS was about your LO's age when I was seeing the same symptoms - I cut out the obvious (milk, yogurt, cheese, creamy dressings/sauces, etc) and saw results within a week or so, though I've heard it can take longer. DS has been like a new child since...
  • I tried obvious sources for a couple of days but it wasn't long enough to notice a difference in fussiness and my ped didn't really think it was (just colic).  We eventually saw a GI doctor and she immediately had me cut out dairy and soy completely for a month.  I noticed a difference after a week and after 3 weeks, he was normal.  If you do decide to try, make sure to give yourself enough time.  I can't believe it was an easy fix and I waited 5 months to figure it out the first time...
