    awful, it took me about 2 minutes to even figure out how to pronounce it.

    What's most upsetting is that it's a spelling that perpetuates laziness. You don't actually have to pronounce it, it's just kind of a sound.

    We had a "Riley" come in the other day. I really like the name Riley. Except it was spelled "Rieghleiy"

    Then her Mom got really ticked when I accidently called her "Regley". 

    What's up with peole naming their kids something really popular but spelling it so that it's improunouncable.

    I posted this name here last week, someone from my month board is using it. She was giving out advice on naming a baby and how it's a good idea to change the spelling and blah blah blah. Made me do this Tongue Tied

    I used to take German, and as I recall, "ie" is pronounced "ee" and "ei" pronounced like "eye."

    Because of that, I would have had to stop myself from calling her "Reel-eye."

    It may be kind of b!tchy of me but I take pleasure in mispronouncing poorly spelled names.
