"Misspelling a child?s name won?t make Junior special, creative or unique. Y?s and I?s are not interchangeable, and apostrophes are not some sort of newfangled confetti to be sprinkled liberally throughout groups of letters."

LOVE this article! And I completely agree. I actually saw a little girl with "Whitkneee" on her backpack. Yes. 3 E's. And a K.
However, I must point out that with a last name like Schmidtberger it's probably best that his mother had no imagination...could you imagine Jimbeaux (pronounced Jimbo) Schmidtberger? Ouch.
I usually don't say much about bizarre spellings, but Whitkneee is absolutely the worst I've seen. That's exceptionally horrid.
