Miscarriage/Pregnancy Loss

Memorial garden for lost little ones...

I planted a garden for the babies I have lost.   Well I went to look at it today and sure enough Grace's rose bloomed right in time for Mothers Day Sunday.  It brings a little peace to my heart and I had to share...

This is her tea rose....  it was looking so pathetic I was sure it wasnt going to bloom this year, but sure enough it did...

I also wanted to share with you ladies that planting a garden for Grace and watching the flowers bloom every so often brings me so much joy!  I have flowers planted that bloom in the different seasons (and come back every year)  When I have a sad day I can go look at the beautiful flowers planted in her memory.  I had never gardened before this but her garden has really done well for someone with no gardening experience...

Here is the pic of the garden right now..  I really should add some more flowers to fill in the bare spots...  I have two statues, one large one of a baby laying in leaves for Grace, and two angels sitting on a bench for the other two babies I lost..  I just wanted to share with you ladies today...

  • that's really sweet.  My mil planted a flower in her garden for Aidan. I have a black thumb so I won't even attempt it.  Plus I don't like bugs.

  • Aww, that it lovely. Gardening can be so therapeutic, and watching things grow and bloom can really help heal. I've worked in greenhouses and gardens for years (part-time gig to keep me healthy and out of my 9-5 office life) and have always found peace when I'm toiling in the soil.

We will be planting a Lady's Mantle for our baby, and some cosmos and calendulas (October's birth flowers).

Thanks for posting the pictures of your garden - it's so nice to see!

  • what a beautiful garden!  i am so happy the rose blossomed in time for mother's day!

my grandmother had a green thumb and had a big lovely garden.  when i was a little girl, i used to love playing in the garden while she worked.  i used to have a lot of house plants in when i was single because it reminded me of her after she had passed.    i had to give all my plants away when i moved thousands of miles to be with DH.  we never replaced them because we moved too much.  but last w.e. we got 5 house plants.  it's nice to have something alive in the house right now besides us.

  • that is really beautiful! what a wonderful idea
