Have you ever tried the Pampers Baby Dry? I liked them better than the Cruiser even before they changed them. Otherwise we've had good luck with the Target Up and Ups.
Olivia started getting a HORRIBLE rash as soon as 'Dry Max' diapers started turning up in the Cruisers packaging.
It would take less than an hour of her wearing a dry max for her entire diaper area to be bright red and raw. Anywhere the diaper touched her would be awful.
Her doctor said that he had seen similar instances of reactions to the new Pampers. (and this was before they even officially debuted the 'Dry Max' line)
We switched to Babies R Us generic brand diapers (they are latex free) and amazingly enough have had ZERO problems with them. We do use cloth sometimes too, but daycare won't take cloth.
We also love Pampers Baby Dry (which do not have Dry Max). They are much much cheaper and IMO way better than any other ones (and when I was a daycare teacher, I used a lot of different diapers).
Of course, I really think that different diapers just fit kids differently. And it all depends.
Up and Up diapers gave Elliot a rash, but we liked them otherwise. I wasn't a fan of Luvs (too papery) or Huggies (leaked out the back). But I know other people who love them.
I used Pampers Baby dry and loved them during the day but used Huggies at night because they seemed to prevent leaks better. Basically I bought whichever was on sale and used them accordingly.

We will be using Baby Dry until he potty trains.
