BFP on 2/14? Come on in....

In looking through the siggies, it seems like there is a small handful of us who received our BFPs on V Day. So, a few questions for you:

1) When was your EDD?

2) How did you tell your DH? Did you incorporate it into V Day at all?

3) How do you think this will affect your future V Days?

I'll start:

1) 10/25

2) For V Day, DH and I have a tradition of where we try to create a "romantic" present for each other, then we cook dinner, get all dressed up, and have a romantic dinner in the living room in front of the fire. This year, for his "romantic present", I wrapped up a blue bib that said "I Love Daddy". (heck, I even guessed the gender right!). He said it was the best present he ever received (this baby took a loooong time to create), and no present received in the future would ever top it.

3) I have no idea. I'm afraid that instead of happily doing our yearly tradition, I'll want to spend all day in bed with a box of kleenex.

Us!

1- 10/26

2- He was with me when I bought the test. We were sitting around, not doing much of anything, when all of a sudden I said "I've been feeling so blah for the last week. I'm going to go buy a pregnancy test, but don't get your hopes up, because you know what they've always said before." We went to Target, picked up a couple of tests, and then I got performance anxiety and couldn't pee for a few hours. Duh.

3- I absolutely think it'll change our Valentine's Days. But I'm hoping that we'll be able to look at it with a wry smile instead of misery. I've got a few months to work on that. :-)

Aww, great post idea!

1) Our baby was due on October 23rd.

2) DH and I had already exchanged small gifts and gone out for breakfast - I had two BFNs earlier in the week, but still had a sneaking suspicion, so I had him bring to the drug store for one more test (though he thought I was running in for other things, ahem). When we got home I ran upstairs and tested right away and got our BFP!I quickly wrapped up an old copy of What to Except When You're Expecting and left it on his chair in our study. I called for him and told him I had one more gift for him. The look on his face was priceless. I showed him the test and we jumped into each others arms and cried.

3) I also don't know what to expect. I think DH is going to have a hard time with it. He had never really celebrated Valentine's Day before me, and then we made it such a special day...I might try to honor our baby in some way, and spend the day close to DH.

Me too! Best V-Day present ever!

1) October 22

2) I had taken plenty of tests that were negative- so even though this was within the window of testing time, it was on the early side so I figured I shouldn't get my hopes up- but also figured that I wanted to test on w/end so we had time to celebrate. So he came to the bathroom with me, I peed, then left it on the counter to wait out the 2 min or whatever. I wasn't really looking at it but saw out of the corner of my eye that it had stopped flashing. I grabbed it and saw Pregnant and was so surprised and happy- handed it to DH as I'm tearing up and he doesn't have his glasses on yet so he's holiding it up close to his face trying to see why I'm crying It was really funny.

Oh, and we celebrated by going to B&N, getting a pile of baby/pg/daddy books, sat in the cafe w/ a decaf(!) latte and picked out 3 books we liked. Then went to Whole Foods and did a monster shopping trip for all kinds of things we had been reading I should eat for good vitamins, etc. It was really fun. Totally "us" to start planning and doing things immediately.

3) I hope that it will make all future V-days feel extra special b/c it really was the best one ever and I will never forget how surreal it felt that we really did it and we were holding the proof in our hands (that is, the pee stick!). Plus, of course I hope we are really pg again by the time the next one rolls around. I really want to be pg and healthy!

Mine was 2/13 but we celebrated V Day that day since V Day fell on a Sunday this year. I will always associate it with V-Day so I hope I count!

1) October 18th

2) I was so amazed and excited (it was the first cycle we tried) that I just jumped on him in bed and I told him. He was still sleeping so it took him a few seconds to understand what I was telling him. We celebrated our BFP & Valentine's Day with a fondu dinner that night!

3) It will always be in the back of my mind but I will try my hardest not to think about.

I got my bfp on 2/11 using an early detector test, but my due date was also oct. 25th.

1) When was your EDD? Oct. 25th

2) How did you tell your DH? Did you incorporate it into V Day at all? When I first got the bfp, I was thinking I'd maybe be able to keep it a secret and surprise him on V day. I was way too excited and couldn't keep the secret for longer than 30 mins. I told him I had an early V-day present for him and showed him the test!

3) How do you think this will affect your future V Days? I think we'll always feel a little sad on that day. Of course, I hope I'm pg next v day.
