We are considering TTC a second child very soon. Our first baby is now 18 months, he was born 10 lbs, 9 oz (no C-section!) and I did not have gestational diabetes, according to my doctor! I gained app. 60 lbs during my pregnancy but lost 20 lbs by the time I got home from the hospital and another 20 within a few months after. I currently still carry app 12-15 extra lbs, but we would like to TTC. I would like to be on a pretty strict diet for this pregnancy - has anyone ever had a formal diet given to them by their doctor to avoid macrosomia or excessive maternal weight gain? Obviously, I plan to eat a lot healthier and LESS this time around, but I'd love a plan to stick to (or at least caloric intake standards). My husband is pretty tall, and was a big baby himself, so I'm not sure exactly why mine was so large, but I'm going to treat it as though it was my weight gain. This time I want a baby under 9 lbs...is that so much to ask??
