Oh, so I bought leggings!

I had time between the end of my dr appt and getting back to work so I stopped at Target with the intent of getting a maternity bathing suit and bought black leggings! I am wearing them tomorrow. :) I will see how they make me feel but am excited based on all of your positive reviews.

I got the Assets brand? I could not find any others....?

  • Did you have any luck w/ the bathing suit?  I am on the hunt for one too.  And I think we are doing a pool thing for Mother's Day, so need one ASAP!

Let us know how the leggings go... that too is on my list.  : )

  • No! I didn't and was really annoyed by the selection of my Target. They had no Large. Lots of Small, XS and XLarge. I tried on the XL and it was swimming on me. So...my mom is going to check her Target for me. There is one I really like but want in my size. This one.

  • Mel, I have the Assets brand.  They're like Spanx.  The only thing I don't like about them is that they are very sheer and have a darker section from the mid-thigh up (the thigh and tummy control panels) so I can't wear them with long shirts only with dresses.

Jackie, we're also doing a pool/bbq event for Mother's Day.  I was going to wear a bikini with my linen pants or a flowy skirt.  But, even the tops are a little tight so I know my dad is going to have a cow!

  • Oh Mel, that suit is adorable!  Love it.  Let me know if/when you find it... we are the same size.  And if I find it near my house, I'll give you a heads up.  : )

I'll only wear bikinis w/ Dh alone... no way I'll let anyone else witness that!  LOL And this has been my feeling since before the bump.  My tankinis don't fit right anymore.

I was wondering about that but wanted to try them anyway and figured if I like them I could probably get a darker, less hose-ish type pair at Motherhood. Hopefully.

  • Jackie, my parents live up in WPB and my mom heads to Target like everynight after all her kids go home. I am having her check there for me. We are doing a beach/park thing up in Jupiter on Saturday and I need a nice bathing suit!

They're definitely worth it for dresses, especially for more formal events.  I'll check out Motherhood for the darker type.  I want to have both because I have a feeling that will be my summer uniform, lol.

Shopping for bathing suits sucks normally... now add a bump, and OMG horrible!  I just checked the Motherhood website, and they were all BLAH!  And A Pea in the Pod, hm, $100-155 for ONE suit?  Don't think Dh will like that!

I've never understood why swimwear is so expensive.  Do you think a regular one piece would still fit since they're made of stretchy material?  Or maybe just one size larger?

If the suit fits right, I dont' mind spending $100, but not on maternity that I'll only wear for one summer (not even sure if you'll wear w/ other pg = depends on season).

I just have to try on different options.  Maybe I'll hit Marshalls / TJMaxx and search for one size up.  The girls are growing, so I may be able to fill it in!  LOL

  • I LOVE MY SISTER! Okay so I sent my mom last night to the Target by her to see if they had the bathingsuit in my size and NO. They didn't. I was so disappointed. So when my sister mentioned that she was going to a different Target today I begged her to check for me and WOOHOO! They had it in my size!
