Seriously, why would anybody do that? It looks horrible and is a pain in my ass. I feel like I have to sweep it 5 times a day and I can't get some of the stains out. I'm seriously ready to rip the crap up myself.
My grandparents had a carpeted kitchen for the LONGEST time. Short rough carpet. They hated it. Only about um..5 years ago..they renovated their place and took out the carpet for some nice stone tile.
carpet in the kitchen or in the bathroom, big no-no's! i've never seen a carpeted kitchen before. in our house, the bathroom upstairs had carpet. we couldn't wait to rip that sucker out!
Nasty! Why would someone ever carpet a kitchen? Then again I think carpet is nasty even in a room with less chance of messes and spills, just even grosser in a room with water!
We recently just moved and we now have carpet in our dining room. Its so annoying! We are planning on putting wood floor in the kitchen and dining room. Why would someone put carpet in the kitchen. Thats dumb!
My friend had bought a house a few years ago (lost it now) and it had HORRIBLE pink carpeting in the bathrooms. I remember renting a room from him and the bathroom upstairs had crud under the carpet and whoever had the house before him just tried to cover it up instead of ripping it out. Its gross.
If it was our house we would totally rip out all the carpet in the kitchen. It's seriously the most disgusting thing ever and Natalie is always finding stuff to pick up off the kitchen floor and try to eat.
Re: I hate carpeted kitchens
We had a carpeted kitchen growing up.
The thing is, it was trendy in the 80s to carpet everything! We even had carpet in the bathroom. Now THAT is disgusting!
I would rip that sucker out too.
How about gold and green 70's carpet in the kitchen? I was the lucky purchaser of a house that had that gem.
The night we closed I made my DH go with me to rip up the carpet. Living with subfloor was better then that mess...the people weren't the cleanest.
in a apt. we had a carpeted bathroom .... but in a kitchen?
I have never seen that. You would think with messes and spillage and cooking that people would THINK it was a bad idea ... trendy or not back then
When we first moved into our house, this is what we had. carpet in the bathroom and kitchen. I gag when I think about the bathroom.
There was an elderly couple who owned the home before. That is why our hardwoods were perfect when we ripped it out.
