I have heard that it is a great book, but not too sure what it's about. DD is still not STTN and has some difficulty falling asleep on her own so I am hoping this book is what I have been looking for.
I think it would be a great idea to read it, it will give you some cues to look at to help you know when Jillian is tired and needs to go down and will help you soothe her.

I read it, among 7 other books on baby sleep. And like all the rest, there are 1-2 things that I liked about it and a few things that I totally disagreed with. But I did as much as I could from all of them, and DD now sleeps from 7pm to 4-5 am, eats and goes back to sleep till 7am. 3 weeks ago she was up 3-5 times a night and usually stayed up one of those times for an hour, so something worked!
It's really helped us by providing a non-CIO method for DS. We needed it more from a 'learn how to fall asleep on your own' perspective. Not sure how it will be for STTN.

I agree with this. I haven't used it for sleep training, but I think it has a good approach that is not CIO. I read it when DS was about a month old, and I found it really helpful. I used to respond to every cry with a bottle, but it helped me distinguish between the cries so I knew how to respond more appropriately.
From someone who hasn't done sleep training at all, I found it very helpful. It's slightly annoying since she stays on the middle of the fence in all things parenting related, but a good read nonetheless.
