We are not hiring a doula, but we are doing the Bradley classes in Newport Beach with Dr. Jennifer Angell. I love all that we have learned so far and feel so much more prepared for our upcoming birth.
I know this is not any sort of answer you're looking for but please keep an open mind for your birthing experience. You just never know what you're going to end up with. It's great to want to be prepared for a Bradley birth but I have had two friends who were absolutely set on natural birthing. One, 40 hours into serious labor, ended up with an epi and the other had an emergency c section due to the baby being in distress. Both of them felt really disappointed afterwards that they did not have the birth experience they'd dreamed of and I thought it was so sad, since they each had healthy beautiful babies.
