I'm scared of the knot.

I've only been active on the bump. I want to start looking around and posting over there about wedding ideas/ thoughts...etc.... but the ladies over on the knot seem so mean! I like you all :) haha.

    I have to agree with you. I was on the knot when I was planning my wedding and those chicks were ruthless. I have not seen anything as mean on the bump as I have on the knot.....at least bumpies would have hormones as an excuse....I dont get it. I remember some chick told me I was selfish for having a church wedding...WTF?

    From my experiences they ARE mean! I was on there when I was planning my wedding and holy hell! But who knows now!

    It's settled :) You can all be my knotties! haha. I was married before but never got a wedding, so this time- I'm going all out, doing it right for sure. (and no, not engaged- just giddy excited. they would probably flame me over there for that right?)

    it took close to a year to be finalized. I've moved on and "taken time" from my short marriage by now. Like I said, just ideas because I find it all so fun and exciting.

    I found my local board to be very nice and a great resource for finding vendors.  The national boards I stayed away from.  Lurk and you will learn alot.

    seeing someone, yes. getting married? not for a long while. the divorce took almost a year to be final, and after the short lived, marriage (to someone I admittedly did not know) I've had my time to move on. the divorce took longer than the actual marriage because of numerous things that no one really knows about.

    So I just started asking a few wedding questions here.

    Start on your local Knot board.

    Avoid P&E (now just E I think) and AFB until you've lurked there a lot, it can be quite snarky.

    I used to be a regular on the Dress board (now called Attire?) and that was probably the friendliest national board.  Not a whole lot of snark.  That was in 2006/7 though.  I haven't been on there in awhile!

    Ah.  Well, if that's the case, you belong on NEY.  But be prepared - you may get flamed to high hell.  I can't judge you for moving on quickly (I did - I met DH just 2 months after I left my X)... but then again I wasn't thinking of marriage for awhile!!
