Congrats on the marriage and the baby!!!!!

QOTD:  My due date is October 29th and my Dr. scheduled my c-section for October 21st.  With the last pregnancy, they delivered my son 4 weeks early due to high blood pressure.  Hoping I make it all the way this time!

  • I'm new here.  My due date is 1/03/11 and I'm on Lovenox for MTHFR and because I have had a DVT in the past.

I will have an amnio for lung maturity at 38 and will be induced once it is determined they are mature.  I've had both of my other children at least 2 weeks early so I'm nervous about going into labor prior to 38 weeks and then still being on the Lovenox.

Kelly, Mom to Christopher Shannon 9.27.06, Catherine Quinn 2.24.09, Trey Barton lost on 12.28.09, Therese Barton lost on 6.10.10, Joseph Sullivan 7.23.11, and our latest, Victoria Maren 11.15.12

Secondary infertility success with IVF, then two losses, one at 14 weeks and one at 10 weeks, then success with IUI and then just pure, crazy luck.  Expecting our fifth in May as the result of a FET.

  • Hi everyone!

QOTW:  I was hoping to avoid an induction, but it's looking more and more like I will end up with one.  We were officially diagnosed yesterday as having IUGR, baby is in the 8th percentile.  Since it's likely a complication of the Factor V Leiden, I may get an induction around 38 weeks.  The good news is, if I weren't on Lovenox, it could have been a much worse scenario with baby's growth.  So I'm very thankful for being monitored so closely by my doctors!

  • I hope everyone is feeling good this week!!

I am going to be induced at 37 or 38 weeks.  I was induced with DS at 38 weeks on the dot and he was 8 pounds 11 ounces.  My doctor wants me to have another vaginal birth if possible, so we're shooting for around the same time.

  • Hello all!

I am due 10/10/10! Such an awesome date! I've known for about 10 years that I have Factor V Leiden but only recently found out that I also have a deficiency of Protein S. So I have been ordered to take Lovenox once daily. I thought it would be horrible...

I have been taking my Lovenox 40 injections for over a week now and still have no bruises! and they really don't bother me!

  • Just moving right along...thinking of you girls!

  • i am being induced this saturday, which will be one week early.  orginal plan was to go two weeks early, but when we got to 38 weeks, the drs decided to wait another week.  i am super excited with a bit of anxiousness and even little scared, but mostly excited.  only 3 more heparin shots - big woohoo! i can't wait to switch back to lovenox!

big congrats! i hope you have the most amazing and beautiful day saturday!

  • I'm getting induced this Sunday, gulp. Going in the evening for cervidil and then on pitocin through Monday in hopes of a smooth delivery. I'll be 37.5 weeks along and the amnio from last Wed came back transitional so they hope he'll be there by Mon.

I'm nervous for a lot of reasons but especially going off heparin for delivery while knowing I have a large clot in my leg freaks me out. How do I know that it will stay put??

  • Congratulations lax!

The plan right now is to be induced at 39 weeks.

  • Hi,

I'm new to this board.  I'm 11 wks pregnant (EDD 11/25/10), and was diagnosed a few weeks ago with APS.  I've been taking Lovenox 40 shots for two weeks.  Have LOTS of huge bruises.  Plus, I get nauseous for about 1/2 hour after I take it.  The needle doesn't bother me.  It actually burns/hurts for a while after the shot.  With the nausea (and my horrible morning sickness), it's not fun!

The more I read about APS, the more I wish I knew about it before I got pregnant.  I never would have gotten pregnant had I known.  I have a perfect 17-month-old daughter and I would happy with having her...she's amazing.

I am looking for a new high-risk OB in NYC.  As I know that 30% of babies born to APS moms are delivered before 32 weeks, I know that I need the best hosp/doc I can find.  Any suggestions?  I think I'm settled on the hospital (Columbia Presbyterian - they have a ECMO as well as a level 4 NICU)...I just need a high risk doc who understands APS.

I'm so happy you guys are here.  I feel like I'm running out of real estate between my waist/hips on either side as my bruises are so massive.  Any suggestions?

I'm trying really hard to be positive about this pregnancy.  I feel like I could lose the baby at any time, so I can't get excited about it (or even get attached to the baby).  Any other ideas about coping/understanding better?

Thanks all.  Means a lot that you guys are going through the same thing.

    -Tiffany

  • I have only two weeks left - won't be induced though, am having a scheduled c-section on May 24.  Surprisingly, I have not been switched to heparin - they are leaving me on Lovenox with instructions to take my last dose the Saturday night before my Monday morning surgery.  And, if I feel anything remotely like labor before then, to skip a dose until we know whether or not something is going on so I will be prepared if I need an emergency c-section.  I have not had a single contraction, or even a braxton-hicks, so far.
  • Hi,

I'm new to this group as well. My EDD is Nov 5th. I am on Lovenox because of a history of early miscarriage. I found a wonderful high risk OB who was willing to meet with me AND listened before this pregnancy. She rau a bunch of tests and found elevated IGM levels and prescribed Lovenox to start the day I got a BFP. This is also the furthest I've been along and so thrilled to officially be in my second trimester! Big Smile

I have also have issues with big fat bruises and when I asked one of the docs for tips, he didn't really have any. My acupuncturist gave me some ideas this week. Within 24 hours of a bruise forming, ice the spot. If it's been more than 24 hours to use a hot towel or hot water bottle for 15 minutes. Can anybody offer any more tips?

RE being induced; is it common for women on Lovenox to be induced? My clinic has not said anything about that other than they probably won't let me go much past my due date.

    Thanks.

I will be induced no later than 37 weeks, my ob and mfm are all about controlling the environment and keeping me and baby safe.
  • I'll be induced at 37.5 weeks (though I think it will be closer to 38.5 weeks).  My OB keeps me on lovenox the entire way through, so I''ll take my last shot 24 hours before the induction.  I was really nervous about the induction with my second son, but I had a super positive experience.  So, for any of you nervous about an induction - try not to worry!
  • Thanks for the tips from your acupuncturist, LuvWestCoast! I'll take all the help I can get for the bruising...running out of spots to give the shot that aren't purple...
