dosage of motrin/ibuprofen

in Babies: 9 - 12 Months

ds has an ear infection.  he is on omnicef, but i want to give him some ibuprofen before bed.  do i go by the weight dosage or the age dosage?  it says that for babies 18lbs-23lbs and between 12-23 months to give 1.875mL and then it says to give 1.25 mL for babies that are between 6-11 months and 12-17lbs.  my ds is 9 1/2 months and is 20lbs.  help!
