3rd Trimester

Ladies who have lost their MP come in...

Did you notice a significant increase in discharge after you lost your plug?  I lost my plug over the last few days and woke up early this morning to some trickling fluid - clear, slimy and odorless.  Since then I have had a few small gushes/leaks.  Just recently, I laid down with a dry pad on to see if it gushed when I stood up.  I fell asleep and woke up to a few squirts of fluid while I was still laying down, but no gush when I woke up.  Again, clear, slimy and odorless.

I saw my OB yesterday and she wasn't too concerned with me losing the plug because it doesn't necessarily mean anything, can regenerate, etc.  Everything else looked good...

I am hoping that it is only extra discharge because I am only 35 weeks and was looking for a little reassurance from some ladies that are a little more experienced/further along.

:::sigh::: This isn't the kind of call that I want to make to the on-call OB - at least not until 37+ weeks.  Crying

  • I lost mine at 34w5d.  I have noticed increased discharge too  I did have the clear, slimy, oderless discharge.  I talked to my OB about it and he didn't seem to be too concerned.  He said if it continued to trickle/leak out or if it was a gush then I should call.  It never continued to leak out.  So I think it was just discharge

  • Thanks, ladies!  I spoke to the OB on call and they want me to come to L&D.  Hopefully, we'll be able to rule out any loss of amniotic fluid.

  • That sounds like your water broke.  Mine broke recently but I'm still at home waiting for contractions to pick up to go to hospital and it was exactly like what you are describing.
