I know this is early, and everyone is talking about Mother's Day since it is this weekend, but just wondering if anyone has thought about Father's Day yet? I need to start thinking about it since the new baby will be here a week before Father's Day, and it will probably be the last thing on my mind at that point! I need some ideas! What are you getting DH for Father's day?
Re: What are you getting DH for Father's Day?
We usually try to keep the "gifting" low key. We generally go camping on Father's Day weekend, then pack up camp on Sunday and head to his sister's house for a crabfeast for all the dads in the family.
My dad is usually out of town on a hunting trip on the weekend, so we catch up another time.
Costco has this AWESOME book it's called like Dad and me or something...stories just for dads and children. I will try to find the link to the book...
Got him that, a golf polo and will take him golfing.
A new charcoal grill. We'd get a new one anyway and he doesn't want anything fancy, so he's getting it for FD and I'm getting out of having to come up with a present idea. Win win.
I'll let DD pick out something small all by herself, too. Last year it was an MU Tigers tie, the year before that it was some girly smelly lotion (ha!). I let her pick out whatever she wants for him with no input from me. It's funnier that way.
Last year he got a laptop bag and the book "Me and my dad" for him to read to DD.
This year I'll probably get him some practical things - new work undershirts, etc. - and a pic of DD for his desk. I need to find a time to take a pic of DD in his patrol car when he doesn't know about it.
I always get DH something sports related.
This year I am getting DH and DS a hat from DHs favorite baseball team. I think he'll love that he and DS have hats they can wear together.
