Miscarriage/Pregnancy Loss

And the hits just keep comin!

Just got back from the lab where I had to go have blood drawn because of a frickin' seven hcg result last week.  Have I mentioned that I'm over having blood drawn?  My veins are actually mad at me!

As if it's not bad enough that I'm a human pin cushion and that this non-pregnancy is never ending, BUT! this one tops the fricking cake!

The tech who drew my blood today IS PREGNANT. . . . and DUE IN OCTOBER!  I was due in October!  Her belly was past the 'gaining weight or pregnant?' stage.  She was cute and her belly was cute and all I wanted to do was scratch her fricking eyes out and punch myself in the face!

Seriously!?!? When I give you the lab request and it says right on there that we are tracking hcg to <1, then you know why I'm there.  For the love of all things Holy - DON'T give me a pregnant tech to do the dirty work!  Everybody that walked by asked her how she was doing, when she was due, blah, blah, blah.

Hey wound - here's some salt. Enjoy.

  • Come on - I mean really- people are just not thinking. Or truly, maybe you have no idea how hard this is until you go through it yourself. I don't know-- this is just like a cruel joke. I hate how these things bring out the worst in me that I didn't even know existed.  :(

  • Tongue Tied You're kidding, right?  What the he!! is wrong with people?!?! That's effing terrible.  I have a profound hatred for OB offices that have you sit with pregnant women in the waiting room after a miscarriage.  This takes that same idea to a whole new level.  I'm so, so sorry.

I know you're not trying to be, but you just cracked me up right there!

It's so hard to believe, but I'm pretty sure people aren't being insensitive on purpose...it's just that we're being OVERsensitive about things. Doesn't make it any easier, though. Sorry you had such a crappy blood draw this morning. :-(

  • I swear, the OB's office is a torture chamber when you are having TTTC or had a m/c.  Pure torture!

  • I'm so sorry you had to go through that. I was also due in October - and have such a hard time dealing with that month anymore. It seems like every time I turn around someone is talking about something happening in October.

I think it's just horrifying that more attention isn't paid to WHY someone is in a lab.

    :(

  • Awh I'm sorry - I know I'll be glad to be away from medical places period after mine is below 5. My last draw was a few days after the bleeding stopped and the phleb had seen me several times... she actually asked "Are you pregnant?"  YES sweetie that's why I'm coming here to see my hcg levels drop out to ZILCH. Dipsh!t. But thanks asking!  Just FYI b/c I used to work in a medical lab... phlebs and desk folk at labs in general don't know sh!t about medical anything. Seriously... not a fsking clue. So they probably weren't being insensitive, just flat out stupid. You woudl THINK they'd be required to know that stuff but nope. My last doctors office scheduled me for a u/s of my legs because they were worried that I might have a clot from an injury... so the scheduler was like "well I don't see any openings till 2 weeks from now, is that ok?" - Umm no you flipping idiot... if I have a clot I could be dead by then, but thanks! She was so confused when I tried to explain it to her but seriously... but those are the type of people that you have to deal with. Ridiculous!!!  So B!tchslap and throat punch away!

  • I would love to just give you cupcakes and make you feel better. I know what you're going through with the hcg levels and I hope it gets better for you. And you were brave to sit there with her, when I was at the doctor's sitting next to a pregnant woman I cried. I hope you start to feel better soon hun!
  • Oy that sucks..times like that I want to scream "Pay some effing attention you effing clinic!"  Similiar thing happened to me..
