So today is cd7, and my 6th day of stimming. 225iu gonal in the AM, and one vial of menupour in the eve starting cd3 (gonal started cd2)
I'm already a wreck in the ove pain dept. Whatever. Bring it on it this works.
I've usually triggered for IUI around cd11 or so, give or take a day. But I was taking 150iu gonal usually.
I'm secretly freaking that I'm stimming too fast too hard. We have a check and E2 tomorrow AM, so I'll have a better idea where I'm at... but let's pretend for a sec that I'm almost done cooking... we don't fly to Panama (the place to do the ER/ET) until WED. May12. So I do a smaller dose of gonal fri & sat, and start the ganrilex/cetrocide on, let's say sunday.... is 3 days ok on that stuff? not undo-ing the stimming I've done and cash my egglettes?
I guess I'm just asking for some experiences on how long you "float" getting those smaller follies to catch up ??? and what you had happen those final days prior to ER/ET.
Grassyass.
Re: help me with slowing down stimming...
There is really no way to make your body cooperate with a specific date. When your body is ready, it is ready and no meds are going to hold everything off. Staying on ganirelix will help slow your E2 and growth but, you are going to lose follicles, and potential mature eggs, by waiting.
You really need to be able to go to ER when you are ready, not when the doc/ scheduling finds it convenient.
I'd wait and see what comes of your E2 appt tomorrow. Remember that stimming for IVF is a whole different stimming protocol, the lower doses for IUI is to limit the amount of eggs you make with IVF you are maximizing your egg production. You are therefore on a higher dose and are going to feel totally different pain wise.
Odds are that if you are stimming to hard and to fast they will cut you back to lower dose after your E2 appt tomorrow.
not sure how to answer this, but I stimmed for 8 days I think and coasted one or two days. I was going crazy and my e2 was sky high (i had a bunch of eggs that made it seem why I had that crazy for a e2.)
good luck. some ppl can coast, but some can't.
Also I totally agree with LCB, if I were you I would consider contacting the airline after your appt tomorrow.
This was a concern of mine when I read about having to fly to panama for ER on a certain date. I am a quick stimmer so the days they have you stim seemed like a lot for me.
It is possible you will coast for a few days and just use ganerelex to prevent O'ing, but I am really not sure. I always triggered for ER 8-9 days after stims.
I am sure that there have been other people who stim off schedule and they are experienced on how to control it all you would think right?
Good luck!
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

You could very well be starting ganirelix/cetrotide today, too, since you've already stimmed for 6 days. You don't want to risk the eggs getting too big and mature too fast -- my LH dropped like a stone once I started that stuff.
But then, I stimmed for 12-13 days or so, and triggered after that.
I do agree with LCB -- it's almost impossible to schedule IVF to a very strict schedule, as everybody stims a little differently. Certainly I stimmed longer than they expected me to, and I ended up being the only retrieval they had the day they did mine because of it.
I did 4 nights if ganarelix as the anatagonist. It's slows them down giving more time to mature. (or so my RE says)
I've been thinking about you guys! GL lady!

I want to add that my RE told me that in order for Ganirelix to be effective it needs to be started when your E2 reaches 400 or when you lead follicle is 13-14mm. If started to late, it doesn't really do its job.
That is why my clinic brings people in for monitoring no later than 5 days after starting stims.
While I realize that it's not optimal having to go to another country (and plan flights accordingly) it's what we chose to do. I was not looking for opinions on our method of growing our family. I was asking how long I can coast for. See Tabs and the others? They answered my question. (thank you)
And LCB, I invite you to stop answering my posts by the way. I don't really value your opinion on much. Please and thank you.
I guess you are not reading where I answered your question (or where many others agreed with the part about not really being able to hold off/ coast for that long without possibly losing mature follicle).
And I honestly don't care about how you grow your family. That is your decision. I would have answered the same way if someone posted about being worried about their IVF schedule and possible stimming too quickly ? not matter how/ where they were doing IVF. The facts are the facts.
She answered your question too (in general), it just wasn't the answer you wanted to hear. The reality is that some people can't coast/float. So if you are stimming too fast and if they try to hold you off to meet a specific date for ER instead of when your body is naturally ready, you risk losing eggs or ovulating everything. Lots of people agreed with LCB, so I don't get why you singled her out and not everyone else too.
I was coasted for 1-2 days both of my IVF's. The first time I didn't lose many eggs (21 retrieved, 19 mature) but the second time I lost a ton (26 retrieved, 16 mature). You need to acknowledge that in having a pre-determined ER date, you may risk compromised/unusable eggs.
"You need to acknowledge that in having a pre-determined ER date, you may risk compromised/unusable eggs. "
I was, and am, aware of that. Without starting some huge riff, I just don't care for LCB in general, and would appreciate the ignore feature more if it actually worked.
I appreciate everyone's help. I guess I'm just stop freaking until I know more from tomorrow's appt.
And I don't care for you too much either.
But, if I have valid information related to a question asked (due to my experiences of 2 IVFs and my diagnosis) I'm going to share it, regardless of how I feel about the OP. I'm sorry you can't see that or do the same.
My Re said the same thing, and since i stimmed for 13 days, I was on ganirelix for 7 days! we got 7 follicles, all were mature and all fertilized.
GL, Tracie! thinking of you!
I/we have limited internet for the next few days, so we'll update as we can.
Thanks for all the good wishes, prayers, thoughts, etc. We appreciate every single one!
After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!
I'm probably really late to this post, but I figured I'd replay anyway.
For both of my IVFs we did 5 days of Cetrotide while stimming. It is COMPLETELY fine!
GL to both of you. I'm not on much these days, but I'm following your posts/blogs!!
