Bummed that we can't do swimming

I wanted to sign DS and I up for mommy & me swim lessons at the club this summer. You have to be 6 months so I wanted to sign up for the July session as he'll be 6 months.

Unfortunately the summer sessions aren't mommy & me- the mommy & me sessions are in May and June before the schools let out.

I was so looking forward to it!

    Are there any other places that do it year round?  Our rec center just built an awesome new building and we did our swim lessons there.  I plan on taking the level 2 "aqua tots" once ds reaches 18 months since that is the requirement for that.

    I would check out some other locations.  I discovered that the high school near our home offers mommy and me swimming lessons during the summer for half of what I was going to pay at the Y and it is much closer to home.

    Our YMCA doesn't have a pool... and there is no public city pool either so I'm not sure where else to check?

    That sucks. But FWIW, you'll probably get more out of it when he's a little older. We started lessons when DS was 6 months and there was a fair bit (like climbing out of the pool, sitting in the shallow water, etc.) that was just a bit beyond him. Now, at 9 months, he can do more and enjoys it more. So it may not be a bad thing to wait a few months.

    Check out other gyms. We take lessons at another gym because we like the instructor there. It costs more than if we were members but it's worth it.
