bumbo seat?

mady is already sitting up in the "tri-pod" position. she no longer needs so much back support and now counts on her hands to support her sitting up position.

i was wondering how many of you used the BUMBO on your kids. did it help the development of their posture in sitting up? would you recommend it? was it worth the cost?

i'm looking on craigs list to see if any new items are being sold, if you know anyone who wants to get rid of theirs (for a girl) and its in new/like new condition, let me know. the stores usually have them for $40 so i'm trying to bargain hunt Smile

Re: bumbo seat?

  • We used one and loved it.  They have trays for them now too.  We used it to feed Noah in until he was bigger and fit better in the highchair.  I know BJs carries them but I'm not sure what they charge.

  • we got it as a gift and used it for about a week.  Just wasn't great for us.

I should add that we'll see if the new kid likes it any better than Cedric, so we're not ready to get rid of it just yet.

  • We used it to.  Eli seemed to enjoy it.  I would fee him in it or just sit him in it while I cooked or did laundry and stuff.  He liked being able to sit up and look around.  I still have it but plan on using it for Chelsea.

  • I have the Bumbo seat with tray for our baby! I've heard good things about it so I hope she likes it...
  • we have the bebe pod but she's been in both... it's weird, the bebe pod is so big, she's a chunker and she slides around in it, yet the bumbo is so small she gets her thighs stuck in it! once she started sitting up on her own, we stopped using it anyway. i would sell you mine, but i dunno if the shipping cost would be worth it! you can buy a bumbo at BJ's for like $30 i think.
  • my DS tries to wiggle out of it, so it's more of a hazard for us.  But I keep using it and stay right in front of him so he does not hurt himself.
