Alabama Babies

A food question

So I was lurking around on 6-12 months and they were talking about mum mums and puffs and finger foods.  A lot of the 6 month moms feed their LO's these for snacks.  I haven't tried anything like this yet, because I assumed they needed teeth, although I know they melt.  So did any of you feed your LO's this stuff around this age, or did you wait?

Re: A food question

  • Allie started eating them around 6-7 months....but she did have teeth.
    Allie ~ 01/26/09 ~ 7 lbs, 9 oz ~ 20.75 in. & Amelia ~ 03/16/11 ~ 8 lbs, 1 oz ~ 21 in.

This.  But the things literally melt in your mouth so they can gum them as well.

Aubrey is currently cutting her first four teeth...but only the tips are out so far...I'm just a little bit nervous about giving them to her...that's why I haven't.

I've heard of parents with children who do not have teeth yet feeding them things like the puffs.

We started feeding K puffs around 7 months old.

  • Abby  had puffs around 6 months and she didn't have any teeth. She loves them! :o)
  • Mitchell is just now cutting his first teeth and their at the bottom.  I've given him Cheerios and he does well with them.  I bought puffs the other day and while he was fine eating it, I don't think he enjoyed the taste.  It was the peach flavor so I'm going to try a different one.
  • Oh, Abby likes the yogurt bites as well. I would break them in half because they were a little big, but they dissolve really quickly.
  • Aidan loves mum mums and puffs.  I think I started giving them to him around 7-8 months.  He is almost 9 months now and still doesn't have any teeth.
  • Grace didn't start eating puffs and yogurt melts until 8-9 months.  I tried earlier but she would choke on them.  The yogurt melts worked best at first.  I cut them in half but they melt very easy and Grace loved them.
  • When A. was around 8 months old - maybe a little earlier - she was eating cheerios - she never liked puffs.  She didn't have any teeth at the time either.
