16 month old ready for toddler bed WWYD??

Our crib was one that was recalled. We are expecting another baby soon so do we forgo another crib purchase now and try a toddler bed with DS or just get the crib because its too early for toddler bed?

well you're going to have to buy a new crib anyway right? I personally, with my DS in mind, would get a new crib and have him sleep in there a few more months.

yes, it is an inevitable purchase but also one we werent expecting right now (even with the store credit). oh well.....

I'd do this too. K started climbing out of her crib at 18 months so we converted it to a toddler bed. That was back in Dec. She's been sleeping in it up until this past weekend when we moved her to her big girl bed. So even though we have another baby on the way, we still used the crib and we didn't have to spend money on a toddler bed.

I bought a toddler bed from walmart and we put LO in it at 15months. I know it was early but due to circumstances at the time we decided to move LO early. Lo has done wonderful in it! He sleeps well and we haven't had any problems. You could get the new crib and let Lo sleep in it for a while till new baby gets here. But you will have to buy a toddler bed too (the toddler bed is cheaper than a crib too) either way you need both. Sorry about the recall. I'm sure lo will do great either way.
