Questions and random vent... :)
anyone have Diaper Genie 2 Elite? is it worth it? does it work alright?
we thought we wanted Diaper Genie 1 but they don't have em anymore...
Gliders? which one did you get? where did you get it? do you like it? anyone get it at Wal-Mart or Target?
when did it hit you that you are going to have a baby? It still hasn't hit me yet... I don't know... I LOVE being pregnant, love the fact that I could feel the baby move and kick and roll... but hasn't hit be that he/she will be out and about in about a month!!! Just had a baby shower on Saturday and now our livingroom is covered with baby things and yet it doesn't feel like it's mine... I guess I have to see a baby in it... :)or am I just being way to clam for this baby's arrival?
another ultrasound to see if my placenta has moved away from cervix tomorrow... if not we are setting the date for my C-section... may be then it will hit me... sure date for baby's arrival date....

We went with the diaper champ instead of the genie so that we didn't have to use the specific refills, etc. ?I used the genie in my classroom years ago and it worked really well, but I don't notice a difference between it and the champ for keeping odors down. ?

We got a dutalier at BRU. ?I LOVE it even though it doesn't get used as much right now. ?It was a LOT more comfy than the others I looked at, so we made it one of our splurges. ?I'm glad we did since I slept in it many times when DD first came home.

I don't think it hit until right before DDs arrival and even then it wasn't 100% real, even when she was here. ?It was very surreal. ?Well that or I was still very heavily medicated after my c/s, lol.?
I have diaper champ. I too didn't want to deal with special bags. It works great!
I did buy a glider at Walmart. Couldn't beat $100 for glider & footrest. Its super comfy too and I liked the color combo - dark wood & cream microfiber.
It didn't hit me until he was born! Enjoy this time! And get unpacking those gifts - you won't have time once he/she is here!
Another vote for diaper champ.
I got my glider at BRU. I like it and use it once or twice a day with her.
I think once I saw dates that was past my due date it became very real. Such as the experiation on the milk was after my due date. Plus with her being a December baby I knew I needed all my Christmas shopping done before she arrived, that helped make it real.

We have the Diaper Champ too and I got a hand me down glider--I think my sil got it at Bergstroms. We use both a lot so make sure you get good ones.
It hit me when I was giving birth--I was one the table, they're telling me to push, and all I could think was "I'm not ready! I'm not ready" It was a moment...
I have The First Years Clean Air system. It's okay. I keep it in the bathroom anyway. It basically only stinks when we open it.
I have a hand-me-down glider, too. It was my sisters. It's a Dutailier, and she got it from Bergstroms. I love it!
As for having a baby...it is still kind of surreal. But I think a couple of days after I had him it hit.

I had the Genie with my previous son and hated that I had to buy specific bags for it.
With the champ - I just our garbage bags and works great.
I am in the minority I have a diaper genie, we just stock up on the refills when they are on sale. I like the way you twist it after each diaper it seems to keep the smell contained. But when you dump it out ugh stinky!
I got my glider and ottoman from?BabyCatalog.com it is a shermag and I think it was $200 (no tax or shipping)I love it and we read in it every night, its very comfy and it has a locking mechanism so when he is standing up on things it won't move on him.??
Enjoy being pregnant and go out to dinner, movies etc with your DH now it may be a little while before you can do that again, and ?it will be real once the baby is in your arms.?
I didnt get a diaper genie or anything. we jsut use little bags to toss the diapers in and tie them up then toss the bags in our trashcan. ANd we empty it a couple times a day.
It didnt hit me that I was having a baby until about 1 week after she was born. I was so tired that I finally believed it was for real.
We also have a Diaper Champ... its great and no refills.
bride4ironman about summed up when it became real for me, LOL! The nurse came in, checked me and said, "We'll start pushing in the next 45 minutes to an hour!" I must've been a deer in headlights, because she very quickly said, "Oh, its ok! It's a good thing- yaaaaaay!"
