So, this is not to convince anyone they should be wiping their asses with cloth, just some information that I certainly didn't have when I started this cloth diaper stuff.
When you wash cloth diapers, you usually do a cold wash first with no detergent, then a hot wash with detergent. Once, after the cold wash, I went in and checked them to see what just the water with no soap did to the poop.
It was gone. All of it. Not a trace of poop. It's water soluble, folks.
Re: FYI, poop in the wash
HOW DO YOU LIVE WITHOUT A WASHER/DRYER AT HOME, WOMAN?!??!!
I have never, ever had this happen. Ever. I wonder if it depends on your washer?
And Wee, that is a VERY good reason for not using cloth diapers. Can you imagine? Yuk. I wonder what people would think if you hauled your dirty diapers to a laundromat.
Do you have to go to a laundromat, or is there a scary laundry room in the basement? LMAO. If you had any idea how I envision your life.
::giggles at QSS::
Lots of people don't have washers and dryers, honey.
This! I couldn't do it and we don't even cloth diaper! I managed it when I lived in an apartment before we had kids, but there's no way I could juggle 2 kids and all my laundry at a laundromat, or even a community laundry room in a complex. Well, I'm sure I *could* but I don't even want to think about how difficult that would be.
This is not to say I would WANT to do it, just that lots of people manage.
i have a half a bath a few steps away from the washer/dryer i will definitly be flushing.
how does everyone 'store' their dirty diapers until laundry day? soak or dry?
My husband and I count the following as the happiest days of our lives:
1. Day we met.
2. Day we got married.
3. Day Jack was born.
4. Day we got a washer and dryer of our own and stopped going to the laundromat.
But isn't this why you're supposed to shake what you can out of the CD and into the toilet?
LMAO!!!!
Disposable diapers, duh!!!
Oisin has such a HUGE wardrobe, we only do laundry every 2 weeks and still have enough onesies. I bet most people here do't go 2 days.
I have a front loader and haven't seen a difference. Or at least DH hasn't mentioned one. Of course, septic is another story.
thats what i do. well actually i scrape the poop out into the toilet.
