Opinions on our girl names?

I'm curious to see what everything thinks about our preliminary list of girl names. We haven't discussed too much yet, so the list is pretty long at this point!

Alaina/Elena- nice

Eliza- nice

Jane- Plain but nice

Julia- nice

Kiersten- NMS especially with this spelling

Lillia (not a typo)- different but not bad.

Lucy- cute

Maura (pronounced Mar-a, not More-a)- I think this spelling will cause a lot of confusion. I like Mara.

Mila (pronounced Mee-la)- nice

Quinn - nms

Sasha - Love

Sierra -NMS

Tessa -very cute!

Valerie- nice

Veronica- like it a lot

I like Eliza, Jane, Lucy, Tessa, Julia.

Don't like Lillia (anytime you have to say "not a typo", it's a sign your name is probably going to cause problems), Kiersten, Quinn.

The others are ok to me.

I prefer Julia, Lucy, and Tessa (all were on my long list, too) with Lucy being my absolute favorite. I'm a huge fan of classic but not overused names.

Definently no to Maura with your pronounciation bc it will always be said wrong. I like Tessa, Valerie, Mila, Lucy, and Alaina.

Ha - it's probably my style that's all over the place! Although, some of the suggestions you don't like are DH's

That's a good point! It is possible that it is regional. I actually meant to include something about that in my comment but forgot. I was going to say it is pronounced more-a to me, like Laura. lol So if you pronounce Laura as lar-a, I can see how that pronunciation would make sense to you.

I have a cousin named Lilia with one l, and she has never had a problem with spelling/mispronunciation. I think it's really cute and a different spin on the common Lily/Lillian trend.

Awesome! I knew a girl with that name in college and really like it - good to hear that your cousin hasn't had much confusion with Lillian and Lily.

Maura (pronounced Mar-a, not More-a) Why not spell it Mara. To me Maura is pronounced More-a like in Laura. If you are ok with having people mispronounce it and having to correct them, then go for it.

Mila (pronounced Mee-la) I would pronounce this My-la as it is spelled. Again, if you don't mind it being pronounced differently than how you want it pronounced, go for it.
