Who paid for it? You or your parents?

I had to buy mine but my parents paid my insurance until I was 18. Most of my friends' parents bought their first car and I was sooo jealous at the time. Now I realize that it certainly didn't hurt me and it may have even helped.

My parents bought mine to the tune of $2400 BUT only because I was a swimmer and had practice at 5 am and again at 3 pm and they were done driving me there. I had to pay for insurance and gas myself from my lifeguarding money I made over the summers. I was always broke.

My parents, but the deal was that we both had to get a job (I shared it with my brother). Since both of us were working, one of us always had to get dropped off. Guess who? My brother hogged that car like crazy and my parents let him!

Me. Wiped out my whole savings account. It wasn't much in the savings account because it was mostly babysitting and I had just started a minimum wage fast food job. I also paid half of my own insurance. My car was a total POS. It broke down on me the first day we bought it.Thankfully my boyfriend was awesome with cars.

My BF (now DH) .... I paid a lil towards it. But I always paid my own Ins. and sometimes his as well as a thank you. My mom never paid anything towards anything "extra" for me. Not even clothes ......

I love your siggy :0). My parents didn't buy anything extra for me either (except the car insurance). I had to buy my own clothes, school supplies, everything, when I started high school.

I had to buy my own, she just filled up the gas tank for the first time for me. At the time I was so jealous and hated the kids that took for granted their parents buying them cars, but now i see that even though the car I bought was a piece of junk, it was MY piece of junk not moms.

I bought it, insured it, maintained it, and kept the tank full. I totally got the short end of the stick...my parents gave him a car and paid for everything else associated with it. I always told myself that it was a character building experience....LOL!!
