Why am I such a neurotic party planner?
I'm estimating having about 30 people at Dillon's party, mainly adults mostly family.
Are you doing cupcakes or a sheet cake? I'm so scared that if I order a sheetcake that it'll be ugly (I hate sheet cakes) but, if I order cupcakes..I'll spend like $30 in baked goods alone.
Re: Cupcakes or sheet cake?
I really thought of doing all of the baking myself but, I don't want to add that stress onto doing all of the food and decorating myself.
I know $30 sounds cheap but, in the grand scheme of things..for cupcakes?
I just may do cupcakes though, I don't want to deal with cake cutting anyway!
We are having a little under 70 people (35 adults and 25 children - CRAZY!!!)
We are doing a sheet cake for up to 40 people and then mini cupcakes for the children (and a regular sized cupcake for DS). I think all in all is will be about $100 for the baked goods!
Another idea- my friends had a "cupcake sheet cake" for my shower. Cupcakes are arranged and decorated to look like a sheet of cake, but then they just pull apart!
Here is a link to Walmart (Mine was from Sam's), at the bottom you can see the Santa cupcake "cake".

Super cute idea.
Cupcakes! And in my opinion homemade ones (even from the box) taste much better than the store bought ones that come with tons of icing. Kids like the Betty Crocker icing better too. I'm a teacher and when I've bought my students (kinder) cupcakes from with the cool whipped icing they don't even touch them.
You can do all the baking the day before and just put the icing that morning!
