My sister-in-law called the other day (we don't typically get along) and informed me that she bought us a bedding set for the nursery!!! (I am only 8 weeks!!!) It was on clearance at Target for $35 and she thought that it was neutral and a good deal! I can't PIP but it is "Blue Dot" by Tiddliwinks at Target. It is really cute and modern but do you think that it is neutral enough? Ben really likes it and I am on the fence. I don't know if it is the fact that I wanted to pick out my own bedding and nursery and was thinking about more traditional than modern, the fact that we don't get along and I feel like she is crossing the line or what? Am I being irrational or what do you think? If you looked at it, is it neutral enough for a girl?
Re: Sister in law overstepping or not? Opinions needed!!!
That is random!! Maybe she's just really excited for you and saw this great deal. I don't know. Weird.
I guess I would say keep it if you think it's kind of cute and if you end up having a girl just tell her it's not girly enough.
I would go with your gut; if you love it then use it. If you don't love it then sell it on Craigs List or at a consignment shop and use the money towards bedding you really love. I associate it more with a little boy but if you use lots of pink accents I bet it would look cute. You are def. not being irrational, picking out the bedding for our babies was a special thing for us and I would not have wanted someone else doing it for us.

She's excited to be an aunt, don't make her regret that by being snarky.
No one said you have to design the nursery around the bedding anyway. Furthermore, no one has said that you'll need to use the bumper, ruffle or any of the extra stuff from the set either. If she gets upset that you didn't use the color scheme in the bedding tough. When she has a baby, she can use it for their nursery.
I used all different color sheets on DD's bed (yep, even blue). I was more concerned about having enough cleaning bedding than what color it was (because it really sucks donkey balls to have a 2 am blowout then discovering you have no clean bedding and have to do laundry).
