On Saturday night @ 11:30pm I had to take Alexis to the hospital because he had an abscess that had ruptured on Friday night and it was not looking good. After waiting and getting in to the ER after almost 2 hours wewere told that he would need to had surgery to clean it out and all that fun stuff. Surgery under a general anesthetic. This was the WORST news for my husband who hates going to Dr's etc. I was also not thrilled of the idea of him being put under. <insert irrational pregnancy hormones induced tears here>. At 4:30 we were finally given a room in the hospital and would be awaiting the surgery the next morning.
Everything went well he was in and out of surgery and recovery in about an hour.
He's still in the hospital. Luckily Homestead hospital is only about 10 minutes away so it's not too terrible.
The infectious dieseases doctor came in a little while ago to see him and said that they found one strand of bacteria that they were not expecting to find. So now he's going on a new kind of antibiotic and we don't know when he'll be going home. I feel the worst for Angel (our dog) becuase she's been alone so much. I leave her for about 6-8 hours at a time and then overnight since I'm sleeping at the hospital until Alexis can be more mobile. He's basically confined to the bed for now becuase getting around is not easy. Plus, they have him hooked up to these leg things that prevent blood clots and he needs to be unhooked everything he gets up to got to the bathroom. The nurses can do it but they aren't always readily available, which I understan, so I feel bad if I'm not there he's kinda stuck.
Needless to say,I'm exhausted.
On a happier note, today they came to install the new carpet in the nursery! Yippie!! The carpet installer guy was nice enough to move the glider in to the room for me and toss the boss at the dumpster after saving me the trouble and having to wait for Alexis to come home. Now I'm just waiting for the rest of the furniture to get here!
If you made it this far thanks for listening. That was like a huge exhale post lol ![]()
