2nd Trimester

what would you do? tmi warning.

last night I had bright red blood. But it was coming from my rectum. I know we can get hemmroids but I never felt any pain. should I bother calling doctor. I dont see him for another 2 weeks. I have my big ultrasound on monday.

Also I am having pains in my pubic area. they come and go. I am assuming it round ligament pain? but I thought that was more higher. this is in my pubic bone area.

thanks.

Did the blood come after a bowel movement?  If so, I wouldn't be concerned about it.  It's probably just hemmroids, even if you didn't feel any pain.

I get pain in my pubic bone too.  I think it's just RLP.

  • I thought RLP was higher, near the ovaries area, that is where I always got it. Public bone pain is normal, too, though. You can have hemmhoids without pain or could you just be straining too much due to constipation? You can call the doc just to be sure.

  • It's probably hermmroids...that's happened to me too. It sucks :( Drink more water and eat more fiber to make it easier for you to go.

I found this about pubic pain during pregnancy.  It's not RLP, just your body preparing for baby and birth.

  • Um, maybe TMI, but this happened to me too. Bright red and actually a fair amount of blood, which sucks because I've been super careful about eating lots of fiber and not straining, which are the two things you're supposed to do to avoid them during pregnancy. No pain or anything. It's hemorrhoids. Joy. My sister then told me, "Wow, I hope you don't have to have surgery after the baby... you know sometimes those have to be operated on afterward, right? And they'll probably get worse later on in the pregnancy and after delivery." Thank you sis. If I had any hope at all that my body might get back to its original shape and function, it's certainly gone now.
