It's definitely popular but not overly so I don't think. DH liked that name, and we briefly considered it. To me, it is about like the popularity of our first son's name, Logan. The lists say it is pretty high up there, and I'm sure we will run into kids in the future with the name, but as of right now I don't know any.
ETA: Oh I do distantly know of one baby named Mason that was born last year. His family is in California.

I know two IRL that were born within the last year. I think it does depend on your area though. I also have noticed that when celebs name their kids, those names seem to get popular soon after, and I think that's what Kourtney Kardashian named her son.

I love the name! I don't think it is any more popular now than it was when I was in grade school. There is always one Mason, but not two. I wouldn't worry about more than one in his class, but just about people constantly referencing Kourtney Kardashian.
In my area the name is not very popular. I think i have probably heard of maybe 3 children named Mason out of atleast 100 children in the previous classes i have student taught. One of those 3 was a girl
It is a common name but I don't think it's overly popular. The Mason's I know here are all over 15 so I think it went away for awhile and is making a comeback.

I work in a DC school and I don't recall any children with the name Mason right now. I LOVE the name... I just recommended it to my friend who about to have a little boy.
I think it's getting popular, but if you like it you should use it. My name was one of the top 10 the year I was born. I had a few others in my classes growing up, but it's not really all that bad.
I LOVE the name Mason. It sounds traditional and reminds me of the Masonic Lodge/Freemasons who are a very old and respectable group. I do not think it is overused, at least yet! We are naming our baby Graham (if it's a boy) after my grandfather and dad, but if we have another boy it will most likely be Mason.

My hometown is Mason...and I loved it when I was growing up, but everyone from that town is now naming their children Mason--even their girls. So I would pass on it now.

I'm in SoCal and there are tons of Mason's here. I love the name but probably wont use it bc of its popularity. I also see idiots naming their girls Mason. This kills me to no end.

Funny, I get a lot of Nathan too when I tell them his name is Mason.
