Bus Trip w/the LO

We're going to New Orleans next month but we're going on a bus(church trip) and I'm wondering how I can secure him during the trip...I mean, the bus doesn't have seat belts so the car seat is a no go...I've already reserved 2 seats so it'll only be he and I(J isn't going) but I can't see holding him for 7 hours...I have a Moby but I'm thinking that's a bit excessive as well...not sure...I plan to take the PNP and maybe the boppy(I can put it in my suitcase)...any other suggestions/comments/concerns?

Re: Bus Trip w/the LO

  • What about putting him in his pumpkin seat and that beside you, or in the floor, aisle. I dont know the set up of the bus. I am just thinking at least he is retrained in something secure. I may be wrong...

  • First, who owns the bus (charter bus, church-owned bus, etc.?) I think you should check the insurance policy to see what it says. Honestly, I would not go without baby strapped in infant seat. I haven't done any research on what's safe in that case though...

Oh good point!!  I wouldn't even think about this.  I think Charter buses have seatbelts if I'm not mistaken.  I would think that for a trip that long a charter bus or something other than a regular bus would be used.

It's a charter bus but they don't have to have seat belts...when I was choreographer for Miles College's dance team we rode buses every weekendSad there were no seat belts and this was with Alabama Limousine....not sure who the church is using...I'll have to ask...hadn't even thought about insurance...thx!
