Grandmothers Mother's Day Gift

I have been racking my brain for an inexpensive idea that my toddler could make and our mothers would value. I just came across this idea and think it is perfect.

From what I have researched you can buy a bag of concrete from Lowes for around $3 - $5 a bag. You use aluminum pie pans or the trays that go under planters. And the stones you can get for about $1 from a craft store or dollar store. So for around $5 you can make about 5 stepping stones for the garden.

I think both of our mothers will love this idea and my toddler will enjoy making it. Now to go shopping for the supplies!

  • I like that idea. I know your looking for grandmother stuff, but my daughter made me a pot holder with her name and handprints on it in paint at daycare one year. I thought it was a very cute idea.

Cute! I like that idea. We tried the fingerprint ornament at Christmas and that was a disaster. My DD is not the best at making handprints yet. However, I figure with cement if she makes a mistake we can smooth it out and start again.
  • That's true. I might try your idea for a cheap and sentimental gift for my Nana.

  • Great idea!! I may make some for our house to!
