What do you do with LO while you shower?

Ugh, I am in serious need of a shower but LO won't nap. He's been up since 9 am. He's happy in his swing right now but I'm afraid to leave him in it unsupervised. Usually I'll wait til he's asleep in his crib, but at this rate I won't be able to shower for days!

Re: What do you do with LO while you shower?

  • I either put him in his boppy on the floor of the bathroom or put him in his little bouncer on the floor in the bathroom.

He is with me always when I shower (I don't trust ds1 alone with him).

  • Loading the player...
  • I put lo in her bouncy seat and place it on the floor right next to the shower ... she likes the sound of the water ...
  • If you are really worried about leaving him in the swing, can you move the swing into the bathroom? Or outside the door?

I did that the first few times with LO in her bouncer. Now that some time has based, I'm not worried about it as much so I don't do it.

  • We do the bouncy chair in the bathroom too. It always seems to put ds to sleep as soon as I start the shower

Normally I shower at night when DH is home. Yesterday, I put DD on her playmat in the bathroom with me. She fussed a little but she was ok for the most part. I also kept the door open so she wouldn't get too hot.

  • I put her in her bassinet portion of her pack 'n play (her crib for now), and bring the monitor into the bathroom with me.
  • I stick him in his bouncer next to the tub.  I like being able to check on him easily.

  • I"ve left DD in her swing before while I showered.  DH was home but he was in the computer room.  I just told him to listen for her and check on her a couple of times.  If I'm alone, I put her in her bouncy and leave her in the hallway with the bathroom door open.  Her seat vibrates so its calming to her.  Go ahead and shower...you deserve the 15 mintue break and you'll do LO good with a little break.  Just make sure he's safe and go take your shower Wink

  • bouncy chair!  most days he just loves to be in the bathroom with me so I never even feel the need to rush.

  • If DD's not napping when I want a shower, I make sure she's fed and changed then just put her in her crib with hher soother and mobile going.  That usually keeps her occupied for the 15 minutes I need to get myself together.  I figure that a few minutes of squawking under those circumstances won't hurt her.

  • I wait til DH is home (he only works til 11) because I can't leave DD and DS alone.  DH will be going to work full days starting next week so I will probably just wait til DD morning nap and leave DS in his swing while I shower.

  • I put DS in his bouncy right next to the bathroom door. If he is sleep, then I leave him wherever he is sleeping (crib, swing, pnp).

    this exactly...he usually falls asleep.

  • Bouncy seat in the bathroom.
  • If Nate isn't home, one in the swing and one in the bouncer.

  • DH comes home for lunch and that is my shower time!
  • I got my shower. He was fine in the swing. :) I even had time to shave my legs! (That's a luxury right now! But I have an OB appt. tomorrow and didn't want to subject them to that horror.)
  • I put DD in her bouncy seat/swing.  If I am too lazy to take the seat out of the frame, I leave her in the doorway of the bathroom.  If the bouncy seat is not in the frame, I put it on the floor in the bathroom.

  • I have to wait for DH to get home. My bathroom is too small to bring her in and our furbaby still thinks she's the biggest squeaky toy ever so I cannot leave her out anywhere.

    this.

today though, for the very first time, after I had shampooed and shaved and such, i turned the water down, undressed her and let her join me. she loved it! She grinned so big when the water tickled her little tummy!

  • I put him in his crib, turn the mobile on, and leave the door open so I can hear if he yells.
