Toddlers: 24 Months+

xp: Where can I find a "low" twin bed?

I'm trying to find a twin bed that is a little lower to the ground but have no idea where to look.  Everywhere I see twin beds, they are just too high for my little guy.  And a toddler bed isn't large enough for this wild sleeper.

TIA!

  • I would try IKEA.  Their beds are all pretty low to the ground.  They are more modern and European styled and inexpensive.

  • Ikea.

We have an Ikea twin in our spare room right now and that's going to be DD's bed.

  • DD's bed frame is masonite.  So we just have the mattress right on the frame and skipped the box spring for now.

You could also just put the mattress on the floor until he's old enough that you don't have to worry about him falling off.

  • We put our bed frame in storage until he is bigger, for now the box spring is on the floor.
  • I think I remember seeing some at Ikea too.

We are going to start with the mattress just laying on the floor.  I just hope I can keep the dog off!  :)

  • I work for a furniture store.  You can buy a "bunkie board" instead of a boxspring, its only a 1" or so deep, so no add'l height and use on any bed frame.  GL

  • We got ours at IKEA -
    Malm, I think.

  • Try Land of Nod.  We got DS's from there and it is VERY low to the ground.  It has the wooden slats so we didn't have to use a box spring with it.  We just bought a foam mattress from IKEA so that kept it even lower.  We will eventually buy a second foam mattress that will make it higher but that we can pull onto the floor for sleep overs.  Ours was on clearance and is gone now, but I think a lot of their beds are fairly low.
